Check-Ins for this Challenge Point

Just an epicly good view, ride, setting, insert descripter here. Take in nearly 360 deg views of Hells Canyon, Seven Devils, and Oregons Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and mountains like Red, Aneroid, and Sacajewea.

This view/location lies just east of Lynes Saddle, just North of Cuprum Idaho. Turn North on NF-111  prior to Cuprum, stay left at saddle, large radio towers will give away the summit.

45°05'24.6"N 116°43'52.0"W

Two ways to access the area; travel to Oxbow OR via multiple routes, then follow the Hells Canyon Senic Byway to Hells Canyon Campground and proceded east and up the Kleinschmidt Grade to acces Cuprum. Alt route North out of Boise to Weiser, Cambridge, Council, then North West on Council-Cupman Rd through Bear ID, another great stop.

Or make it about a 360 miles loop with is just epic, one of my favorites!

Since it has recently been made famous, and I find myself on it or crossing it on my way to lots of places, I thought Chicken Dinner Road would be a good challenge point.

This photo is from the group ride to Placerville and Hawley Mountain.  May be hard to find more snow this time of year but when you can't make it to a mountain top challenge site early in the year getting a picture of your bike in the snow would be a great consolation prize!

What a awesome ride I had with fellow friends.  5 days of the best moto riding one could ask for!

I tried to get here in June of 2012 when it was one of our challenge sites, but got blocked by snow from both sides.  Rode here on August 28th. GPS coordinates: N44.34.194 W114.55.020

Borrow Pond is a man-made water holding pond located about 4 miles NE of the intersection of Winter Camp turnoff and Clover Three Creek Road - approximately 27 miles south of Bruneau ID.

The coordinates are: N42 36 11.2 W115 26 24.7

On the day I arrived, in mid-September, there were several Mallards and a large Pronghorn Buck availing themselves of the ample water supply.

Definitely worth a look if you're riding between Balanced Rock and Winter Camp!

Dry Buck Summit snow 11/9/19. One of the favorite rides I have been on so far. I have never been to High Valley and really enjoyed the loop I did through Sweet, Ola, High Valley, Pinehurst Church and back out through Sweet. Beautiful ride.

Not in Idaho this time.. just across the border at Golden Spike Nat'l Monument. Was tempting to post a picture from the Jack Daniels Distillery in Tennesse or Luckenbach Texas or ... Some great rides this year. Just shy of 5 weeks and 10K, between 2 trips.
