This lake is so wonderful. A nice place to camp here at Louie Lake is Paddy Flat Campground, and there's whitewater on Payette River - North Fork for all you adrenaline junkies. Louie Lake Dam is a place that is near Louie Lake, and from Louie Lake you obtain a splendid vista of Jughandle Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Louie Lake without first going for a hike along the Boulder Driveway Trail, and there are magnificent places to look at along the Boulder Lake Trail.
If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Salmon River Mountains. Louie Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Fork Campground is a wonderful local campground, and do take a look at Boulder Meadows Reservoir, it's a delightful lake. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
Louie Lake gets a common amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that snows the most; the driest of the months is July. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff near Louie Lake. Going for a hike on the Louie Lake Trail is always a great adventure; if you're here, you could also explore picturesque Boulder Lake. If you're here at Louie Lake and you like golf, you can explore Jug Mountain Ranch, and a perfect close by hotel is Best Western McCall Lodge & Suites.
Through the summer months highs here at Louie Lake reach the 80's while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's. Throughout the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Louie Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Salmon River Mountains. A spree to Jug Meadows revitalizes the soul.
