Ride Description:

It’s time for our 3rd annual fall picnic. We are going to change the location and the format a little this year. We will be meeting at Carl's Cycles for a little tire kicking and also to show our thanks for their sponsorship to the club and the Challenge Event. We will head into the foothills for a fall colors ride and then back to Boise for an afternoon lunch. I hope to have a big turnout again this year. See you all on Saturday. The club will be providing burgers, dogs, chips and drinks.

Owyhee Uplands Back Country Byway or ...Mud Flat

Steelhead and I decided to tackle the Owyhee Upland Back Country Byway, forthwith referred to as the OUBCB, in order to collect three challenge sites instead of heading for the cool mountains to the North as we had previously planned.  Idaho's "chief meteorologist" had predicted Boise temps of 100-102ºF but I knew the mid section of the Byway was near 6,000' and that the elevation should help moderate the long hot dry day.
