Ride Description:

I started out the year with low expectations of collecting very many Challenge points due to my ankle surgery, but I've been at it and now I am one challenge point away from Gold :) Since its so close, I figured I could hit Mayfield any time, and so I haven't yet. Its an easy Challenge point and I think I should get it before it actually turns into winter.  I want to get the South Fork Picture Op while I'm at it, but I don't intend on making a whole day of it.

Ride Description:

Starting from the Albertsons parking lot we'll ride to Idaho City then explore the backroads just noth of town in search of the El Dorado and several other mines and gravesites in the area.  If time allows we can stop for a late lunch at Trudy's in Idaho City then head back to Boise.  Gold pans are optional!

Ride Description:

This is an exploratory ride via road 311 which starts at Grimes Creek and goes to Idaho City to see if the road is open all the way.  My map shows the road is not continuous, so we will have to see if we can make it.  From Idaho City we'll continue on to Elk creek and maybe check out a mine site or two.  After this short loop we can stop for lunch at Trudy's resturant then head back to Boise.  I'm using this ride to scout out a potential night ride and overnight camp in this area next weekend so anyone going tomorrow will have a say in planning picking the route.  H
