Level 3 rides will include rutted double track, and uneven roads. These may be rocky and difficult at times. A 1200GS or similar bike will feel heavy in this terrain, and will require an experienced rider. A moderate rider on a 650cc bike will be able to maintain 20 to 30 m.p.h. without a load. Little or no single track will be present on a level 3 ride. You may encounter moderate water crossings (less than knee high). Expect higher average speeds on easy sections of the route.

Ride Description:

On this member ride we will visit three of this year's challenge sites - #27-Three Forks Hot Springs, #28-Spencer Reservoir, and #29-Swan Falls Dam.  This route covers approximately 350 miles, so we will need to move at a fairly brisk pace.  If time permits after crossing the Swan Falls Dam (south to north), we will visit Higby Cave on the Army National Guard Training Area.

Ride Description:

This is best described as a tentative plan. A one day shot from Emmett to Enterprise Oregon for the Wallowa Adventure Jamboree on Thursday the 8th. The thought... Meet in Emmett at the Blue Ribbon Café, 7:30ish. Kickstands up at 8:30 and head north, Van Deusen Rd and up through Indian Valley to Council. From there attempt 3 challenge sites. This is where it becomes a maybe, hitting Wild Horse Falls and Black Lake. Black Lake may not be accessible then... From there down Kleinschmidt, and up to Hells Canyon dam.

Ride Description:

This is going to be a ride along the Snake River starting south of Nampa ending up near Swan Falls dam.. We will be hitting 3 main Indian petroglyphs sites "Map rock, Celebration Park and Wees bar". The firstpart  will be paved then I plan on hitting dirt just before Celebration park. Once we cross the Dam (yes we will be pushing the bikes across Swan Falls dam),  the terrain is rough so I'm giving this part of the ride a difficult rating of 4 so if you would like to opt out at this point this would be a good place to do it.

Ride Description:

Anyone is welcome but please keep in mind this is a "stop and smell the wildflowers" adventure so I'm going to be zig sagging around, and stopping at all of the things I've wanted to see in these here parts. I wouldn't mind a cabin rental every 3rd day, but would like to keep costs down if possible. Would like to ride the Lolo Motorway and Magruder too. I'll work on a route rough draft soon.

Ok I'm feeling much better and itching to get out on the bike before the weather gets too nasty. Meet at Beacon Light Rd Chevron in Eagle at 7am, earlier if you need coffee and such. We will ride up Highway 55 to McCall just to get the day rolling. Fuel in McCall, grab lunch from Albertsons(Old Pauls) and head out Warren Wagon road to Burgdorf for a soak in the hot springs if there is time ($8, bring cash), maybe eat lunch here too.
